#21 HOW TO USE A VISION BOARD TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS

Updated: Sep 6, 2021

Visualisation is not just another fad, rather, it is a tried and tested scientific practice, and it works! For example, I use visualisation with prayer, and I’ve seen excellent results.

Over Thinking Will Rob You of Your Dreams

I think people get hung up on the idea of visualisation when they over-think it or worry if they’re doing it wrong or wonder if it will work for them. Don’t overthink or analyse- go with the flow of your ideas and deep desires. Believe that your ideas are from the creator. If they are ideas for the good and benefit of humanity, they come from the right place. In reality, we all do the visualisation thing without realising it. We imagine a scenario, good or bad, and when it happens, we say- “I told you it would happen, I just knew it!” Visualisation is a real phenomenon and part of our natural human existence. Visualisation is a simple, mindful practice to help to clarify your intention.

I won’t go into specific detail here; that is grist for my next book. However, if you want something with all your heart, visualise you already have it. To do this, you need a little help. Therefore, it’s a good idea to create a vision board with images to inspire your visualisation and help to retain your focus.

Creating Your Vision Board

Place images and relevant quotes on your board that depicts your goals. What do you want? What are you called to doing with your life? What do you want to achieve? Place pictures and quotes that correspond to your vision on that board. You don’t have to create something elaborate or fancy. The simpler, the better. You need to be able to see very clearly what is on that board. You don’t want any clutter.

Now, you have created your vision board. Clear your mind, focus on your vision board, and intentionally ‘feel’ that you already have those things. Imagine them in your life and imagine enjoying them. Imagine it until it because almost real. Until your sense heightens and you participate with your senses. Do this consistently for at least 10mins each day (you can do more) until your reach those goals.

Eventually, if you recognise and listen to your instinct, allowing your subconscious to guide you, then your goals will become a reality.

Reality Check

If it sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? However, it is work. You must show up at your board daily and do your visualisation thing- faithfully- constantly seriously for it to work for you. (Matthew 21:22).
